Meet The Creative Crew Behind Foxgloves Flowers
Colleen O’Farrell- Owner,
Designer & Farmer-Florist
Colleen is the owner behind Foxgloves Flowers! She started Foxgloves Flowers in 2001 — 21 years ago!! WOW⠀
She started Foxgloves, knowing she had to do something creative in her life that involved nature, she had it in her soul.⠀
She most loves the endless possibilities that floral design allows, there’s always something new and exciting to create and do! Each season change brings new possibilities, new products + trends.⠀
Favourite Flower: So hard to choose! Ranunculus are one of her favourites! She started growing them years ago in the hoop house at Heath Gardens, and they are so stunning!
⠀
Outside of work, she has 2 mischievous boys, Jaxon & Beckett that keep her busy when she’s not in the studio or gardens. As well, she has a supportive husband, Brandon Devnich that helps out with the business, doing deliveries, laundry and everything else in-between that’s needed done WHILE being an instructor at Camosun College in the IT department. ❤️⠀
⠀
Something most wouldn’t know about her: She has a Ceramics Degree from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. ⠀
For Colleen, “inspiration can come from anywhere, anyone, it is all around us! I find fodder for my designs in the natural elements around me, the juxtaposition of two seemingly incompatible colours, or a conversation with someone in love with what they do. The shape of a leaf, fashion, home decor trends, but mostly it is the flowers themselves. Seeing how they play together, the flow, the way your eye is drawn through an arrangement, allowing each bloom to shine.” ⠀

Foxgloves Flowers Location
Foxgloves Flowers, now located in a private studio setting in Victoria, BC, Canada, is an independent European design oriented flower shop. With a keen eye for detail and stunning design, we pride ourselves on using only the choicest blooms available.
All orders, large and small, are treated with the utmost discretion and care, and are hand delivered directly to the recipients.
Foxgloves History
Established over thirty years ago in the main floor of a house on Windsor Avenue, Foxgloves gained a reputation of providing creative arrangements using only the highest quality product.
From this location, Foxgloves was moved to the Athalone Court on Hampshire into a retail outlet. At that time, Foxgloves Flowers was called “Foxgloves-The Oak Bay Flower Shop”.
Foxgloves had many successful years at this location, and in 1996 the owner at the time split the name of the shop and brought Foxgloves into the downtown market at G4 1001 Douglas in Sussex Place.
In 2001 Foxgloves Flowers was purchased by the present owner, Colleen O’Farrell, and moved, once again, to “Lower Johnson” in the heart of old town Victoria.
Nine years later, in the spring of 2010, Colleen moved Foxgloves back to its roots and into a private studio setting. Still focusing on the day-to-day telephone and internet orders, corporate and wedding events, Foxgloves has new life in its fresh new location.
The shop still boasts a reputation for creative and unusual design and the highest standards of bloom quality.
