Maxime Kumler and Doug Zeman wedding was held on August 2, 2019 at the beautiful Fairmont Empress Hotel, where the reception was held in the library followed by the dinner in the Bengal Room. The bride and groom were from the US and picked Victoria because they wanted a destination wedding, a place that was easy to get to, and would be a new experience for friends and family. They fell in love with the area, the scenery and the architecture. the city will always have a special place in our hearts! They loved having a small intimate ceremony with all their friends and family, only 45 people at the event, everyone came from another country, as far away as Australia and Singapore.
The city will always have a special place in our hearts!
Colleen and Maxime coordinated everything online, they met for the first time on the day of the wedding! We were able to captured Maxime’s vision of simple greenery. She wanted to bring some of the outdoors inside for an organic green look. The long harvest tables were decorated with lush green foliage runners and mix and match foliage adorned each place setting. It was a perfect compliment to the historic architecture of the building and everything felt effortless along with black tie elegance.
Maxime had some great advice to future brides planning their day: “A few things! You’ll focus on a lot leading up to the day, but take some time to focus on yourself. Make sure your dress fits/looks the way you want it, and that you love your hair and makeup. Pay attention to what you like because you can’t make everyone happy! Also, hire a videographer! We didn’t and I wish that we did; the day goes by so quickly and it would be so nice to be able to replay the day, especially the vows.” – Great advice for future brides-to-be!
